Why CollectorHQ Is Now DebtNorth
Same site, same team, clearer name.
Last updated: August 8, 2026
If you're seeing this after landing on a link or bookmark for CollectorHQ.ca — you're in the right place. CollectorHQ has renamed to DebtNorth. Nothing else changed: same editorial team, same free calculators and Licensed Insolvency Trustee directory, same commitment to not selling you a single product. Just a name that says what the site actually is.
What actually changed
- The name and the domain. collectorhq.ca is now debtnorth.ca. Old links redirect automatically — nothing you've bookmarked or shared is broken.
- That's it. Same authors (Marcus Chen, Nicole Beaumont, and Sophie Tremblay), same articles, same calculators, same Licensed Insolvency Trustee directory, same editorial policy and affiliate disclosure standards.
Why we renamed
"CollectorHQ" was a name we outgrew. It reads to a lot of people like it belongs to a debt collection agency — the opposite of what this site does — and it also collides with unrelated brands in the trading-card and memorabilia space that happen to share the name. Neither of those was doing us any favours with readers trying to figure out, at a glance, whether this is a resource for people who owe money or people collecting from them.
DebtNorth says plainly what the site is: Canadian, and about debt relief. No rebranding mystery beyond that — we're not hiding a business-model change, an ownership change, or anything else behind the new name. Same independent, ad/affiliate-supported education site it's always been. See our About page and commission disclosure for the full picture of how the site is funded.
If something looks broken
Every collectorhq.ca URL redirects to its DebtNorth equivalent. If you find a link that doesn't, or anything else that looks off after the move, email corrections@collectorhq.ca and we'll fix it.
